Heal Kerala (India)

competition entry | shortlisted entry

This shortlisted competition entry - 'Building Smarter, Building Together' - addresses head on the realities of the previous devastating flood and proactive methods to mitigate future floods. Where the people of Kerala rose to the occasion in the 2018 floods was in their selfless rescue efforts. By recognizing this innate community strength, and building upon it - our strategy promotes enhanced ease of communication and real time feedback during the onset, peak and post flooding scenarios. To complement and strengthen the technological interventions, we harness the strength and resources of the community, through shared building and socio-economic investment strategies.

Big Ideas Small Lots (NYC)

competition entry | in collaboration with TripleO Studio

Our design proposal looks at Housing as a means to contribute to cultural, social and communal development. In a city like Manhattan, with real estate at an extraordinary premium, and in constant contradiction to the affordability of a majority of its inhabitants - we propose an adaptable and scalable solution which brings together the best of private space with the benefits of communal living. Intended in particular for the many in-need users the City has a responsibility to house.
